Documenting the people and experiences behind a defining moment in digital music.
The story
The sound of
a changing era.
Before streaming became the default, a website helped change how music reached the world.
MP3.com was a trailblazer at a turning point for music and the internet. It connected artists and listeners in ways that felt radically new in the early 2000s.
Behind MP3 looks back through the people who built, worked within, and experienced that moment. The documentary is taking shape through interviews and firsthand memories.
